Welcome to Tanya W. Newman's Writing Portfolio

 I’ve loved reading and stories for as long as I can remember.  At the age of ten, I decided to write a book of my own.  When finished, the story was thirty pages, complete with a cover I drew.  It left something to be desired, but nonetheless cemented my passion for writing, leading to countless others tales, mostly about horses and riding.  Over time, romantic relationships, crime, and paranormal elements became staples in my work.  This lifelong love of writing led to BA and MA degrees in English.  In between years of teaching and raising my family, I have published several short stories and three novels. I live in upstate South Carolina with my husband, son, daughter, 2 cats, and Labrador/Coonhound mix.  When not writing or serving as professional maid, laundress, chauffeur, or homework tutor (hubby handles bulk of the cooking!), I love coffee, action movies with a good love story, The Golden Girls, U2, long jogs, and traveling with family.
